Our Professional Expertise

We strive to make Cyprus a carbon neutral island by encouraging green, highly skilled employment and boosting societal resilience

Education

Our Hub coordinates a wide array of cleantech entrepreneurship and climate systems innovation education programs for different target groups ranging from 12-18 years in schools to postgraduates in young professionals. We have educated participants on site and virtually from across the world in collaborations with other EIT CLimate – KIC partners and EIT Climate – KIC Learning Hub.

Policy

We are preparing policy recommendation both on behalf of private companies and other organizations, but also for the Government of Cyprus and local authorities on the role of climate innovation in the sustainable development.

Acceleration

Since 2012 we are fostering entrepreneurship through the EIT Climate – KIC Acceleration

programs. The programs are tailored made according to the stage of development and specific needs of the participating start – ups and is comprised of intensive training, extensive hands on coaching and mentoring, as well as networking,

Demonstration

Through our network of collaborators, both in Cyprus and abroad, we have showcased technology application under the real conditions. We work closely with local authorities innovators, and business to put to test innovative technologies to solve climate-related problems.

The Cyprus Climate Hub : Who We Are

We are a three – partner hub, working under the Regional Innovation Scheme of EIT Climate – KIC.

Cyprus University of technology (CUT) is the academic partner, focusing mainly on education, innovation, policy and demonstration.

Cyprus Energy Agency (CEA) is a non for profit NGO with focus on training, policy and sustainable projects facilitation.

Chrysalis LEAP is a cleantech accelerator focusing on start – up training and business idea acceleration and entrepreneurship.

The Maritime ClimAccelerator

The Maritime ClimAccelerator, supported by EIT Climate – KIC, will offer participating start – ups funding, training, peer to peer coaching and theme – specific mentoring. 30 to 40 start -ups will be accepted annually.

They will be asked to provided innovative solutions for the maritime industry’s transition to sustainability and then will be able to present their ideas in front of interested stakeholders.
